Home supply falls as banks hold back on inventories (Detroit Free Press)

Metro Detroit’s supply of homes for sale fell sharply in the last three months of 2009, a result of banks holding back on releasing their inventory of foreclosures. Lenders have been slow to turn over their supply of homes because of moratoriums on foreclosures and because a large release of houses would devastate the local market.
